Nokia, United Group Partner in Fiber Network Deal

Nokia Corp. said Thursday that it has signed a deal with Dutch media provider United Group BV to deploy a fiber network and in-home mesh wi-fi systems across the eight different countries in southeast Europe it operates in.
Mesh wi-fi systems are designed to provide wireless coverage throughout the home, eliminating dead-zones created by a weak signal.
The Finnish telecom equipment maker said the fiber network will enable UG to extend new ultra-broadband to millions of residential and business customers across the region.
Financial details weren’t disclosed.
