Singapore’s Cybersecurity Agency warns businesses of Bitcoin ransomware risks

Singaporean authorities, including the Cybersecurity Agency of Singapore, have issued a joint warning to alert local businesses to the growing threat of Akira ransomware variants.

The warning said that Akira, the ransomware that stole $42 million from more than 250 organizations in North America, Europe and Australia in a year, is now actively targeting businesses in Singapore.
