The 22nd Shangri-La Dialogue will be held in Singapore from May 30 to June 1. According to the organizers, more than 550 representatives from defense and security agencies from more than 40 countries and regions around the world will attend the meeting.
According to the meeting schedule announced by the organizers, French President Macron will deliver a keynote speech on May 30, and Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar will deliver a special speech on May 31.
A spokesperson for the Chinese Ministry of National Defense said on the 29th that a delegation from the National Defense University of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army was invited to Singapore to attend the 22nd Shangri-La Dialogue and visit relevant military and local institutions in Singapore. This time, the delegation of the National Defense University will attend the meeting and will have in-depth exchanges with all parties to effectively build consensus.
The dialogue will hold 7 plenary sessions, two ministerial roundtable meetings and 3 special forums, focusing on hot topics in regional security.
The Shangri-La Dialogue, officially known as the Asia Security Summit, is a multilateral forum initiated by the International Institute for Strategic Studies in the UK and started in 2002 with the support of the Singapore government. It is named because it is held annually at the Shangri-La Hotel in Singapore.
